Many years ago, when I worked for a software company, I was tasked with to creating training materials. It was then I was introduced to Microsoft PowerPoint and my life hasn’t been the same since.

I always wanted to draw, paint, do anything creative. However despite trying I could never create works of art I longed to draw or paint.

What working in PowerPoint did for me was put a digital canvas in front of me and a unique opportunity and enough time to learn the basics of designing visual material to communicate ideas and information.

I was only in that position for about 18 months and after that returned to nursing for another 11 years or so until I retired about 11 years ago.

But this artist found her medium and there was no going back.

Over those years I learned how to design and manage websites and managed a website for a small non-profit advocacy group for almost a decade. I now manage our church’s website and I am assisting another small non-profit organization with their website and promotional material.

Today, so many decades later I still face blank digital canvases weekly and I get to create all sorts of digital and sometimes print items to help my home church publish and promote our local events.

Oh, and I do it all on a Chromebook. LOL!
